All of the words I said out loud for S01E07 of Audio Drama Debut, my podcast showcasing new audio drama, fiction and RPG trailers.
F/X - Fountain pen writing, and then being capped.
THE LIBRARIAN: Hello there. Please, take a seat in the specially-built plastic isolation bubble. Mind your fingers, that door closes automatically. Don't worry, as long as you're out of here relatively quickly, there's plenty of spare oxygen for you to breathe.
Who would have thought these proximity measures would have cut down on timewasters? It's wonderful. I'm getting so much more staring longingly out of the window done.
Anyway, would you like some refreshment? The bubble has a slightly unfortunate tendency to focus the sunlight, so you may find yourself getting a bit warm. If you suck on the tube in front of you, you'll find it contains a lovely Moroccan Mint. No cups in the bubble, I'm afraid.
Oh and if you find the sunlight focuses down to a superheated ray of plasma, I suggest keeping out of the way of that. The last patron took ages to clean out.
Well, I hope you enjoy your time in the Giant Hamster Ball of Audio Fiction. It can roll rather delightfully, while letting you listen to dramas, books, stories, actual plays and a few other things.
Given your current status, perhaps you'd be interested in shows about people being trapped and desperate to get out? There's this one, about a young woman kidnapped by a nefarious voice, dependent on the listeners to supply her with clues. Or this, about a military team who hear messages over a radio, that the listener must interpret to find the next episode to listen to. Or something more traditional, a docudrama made by convicts?
Something new, eh? Well, inspired by that new contraption you're sat in, I've been selecting new shows by bingo mechanism. Let's give it a spin and see what four come out.
F/X - A bingo cage rotating.
First it's two ducks in a row, 22. Then two sticks in a row, 11. A stick and a duck, 12, and a duck and a stick, 21.
I should probably start using numbers on these, instead of hieroglyphics.
And probably put more than 4 balls in there.
Oh well, let's see what these are on the lookup table.
First up is Darksend, which features Quorin Andreas, a nineteen year old who briefly experiences death. After being revived, he retained a memory of an awareness that was not his own. An ethereal darkness that tried to latch on to his soul, making him a vessel. Can he save himself and possibly the world? Or will the machinations of those that hunt him lead to his destruction... or worse?

Then in this week's RPG, it's Queens of Adventure: Legends in which Dungeons & Dragons & Drag Queens come together in stand alone comedy adventures! It’s the place for live shows, one-shots, and stand alone side stories in a world of Dungeons & Drag Queens.

Then there's Benlunar, a fantasy story podcast. Follow the exciting journey of Lilian Lausanne and the town of Benlunar told week by week. Every episode is a new chapter that contains mystery, magic and music.

And finally, Wander, about an unregistered mobile app, mysterious deaths across the country, and a young woman's search for answers.

And that's that. Hope you enjoyed those, but even if you didn't, no getting away from them in that bubble, is there?
No, no, don't get up. I've found that door tends to get stuck. Don't worry, I'll roll you to the top of the stairs, and then it's a quick tumble down to engineering who have managed to get most people out.
On the way, have a read of our submission guidelines for any new shows you might find. They're inscribed in the surface of the bubble and might connect to a secret escape button. You're looking for the words Twitter, and @AudioDramaDebut.
Anyway, cheerio!
