Gods of Egypt

I spent most of this film waiting for giant snakes. I was not disappointed when they turned up. Either by the sexy snake-tongued women, or the giant snakes. Giant snakes are just more fun.

This film was apparently poorly received. I'm not going to get into the white-washing fight, but this was an excellent updating of Jason and the Argonauts. Wonky effects, just about enough plot to hold it together, and some really silly monsters.

Jamie Lannister did a pretty good job of being Hercules, sorry Horus, and Brenton Thwaites was a decent Iolaus.

Also it had the first properly evil architect I've seen since HIMYM. Rufus Sewell is fun in everything. (I've said fun a lot in this "review". That is because I am not a very clever critic and I enjoyed this film.)

Recommended.
