Looks like it's walking simulator week here on the Cambridge Geek. This one tells the story of Stanley and his wife, and their rather disastrous trip to Iceland. A birdstrike downs their small plane, and leaves them separated across a mountain range, with Stanley trekking slowly towards his trapped wife, Leonore.
Death by the cold is a constant risk, lending a certain urgency to the trip, as you dash from geyser to geyser, allowing the steam to warm you up. Geysers, or the rather less cheerful sight of a bit of burning wreckage. Grim or not, it's all needed, as taking too long to get between heat sources results in a rather nifty screen freezing animation. And death.
There are some puzzle elements here, though they're never terribly complex. A bit of wandering around and switching valves in sequence is about as difficult as it gets. All looks very pretty in the Unreal engine though. Some good scenery and sets here.
It's another short one (probably shouldn't have cost more than Scanner Sombre) and not too heavy on the replayability. A good experience (especcially with some of the plot elements you get via Stanley's cold induced flashbacks), but not a game you'd keep coming back to.
Recommended.
