Ooh, this was so close. I was expecting something like Tony's, an earlier radio comedy about hairdressers, but this didn't quite get there. The main problem with this was that it felt like it was trying just a bit too hard all the time.
It feels a little mean-spirited to say so, but that problem is most obvious in Beth Granville's character, Sabrina. Granville wrote the show, and perhaps felt a little too strongly about it being successful, as that comes across in her character. The other two involved, Stephanie Siadatan and David Oakes take it a little more sedately, and it tends to work better. Must say, Oakes was my favourite part of this, which was mostly helped by his very deadpan/underplayed aspect.
Not sufficiently interesting to keep listening to. Best skip it, unless you have a great passion for Tonypandy.
