Okay, this is just stupid. Stupid awesome.
Subaru is an ace pilot of an earth defending mecha, engaging in daily battles against horrible foes in his giant robot, the Durandal F. At the same time, he attempts to maintain his emotional stability by any means necessary.
Probably the best part of the show is the narrator, who has a very dry manner, but in general it's an excellent satire of the space based mecha show.
This is by no means a serious drama. It is a bit of silliness, with episodes about six minutes long, covering all of the horrible things that can happen to Subaru, who is a bit too attached to the sanctity of his cockpit. It's his safe space, and nothing horrible must ever happen to it.
Subaru has a certain number of neuroses, as he's the youngest fighter in the Earth Union space fleet, and only feels safe when he's alone in his cockpit.
And so begins a lot of terrible adventures. He encounters annoying colleagues, unexpected toilet breaks, inappropriate nudity and food antics.
It's more than a bit hilarious, and since it's only a short, you'll not lose anything by giving it a try.
