May 2018 Book releases
This is a list of the new and upcoming science fiction and fantasy book releases this month that are either standalone or the start of an entirely new book series. Basically no sequels. There are plenty of sites that'll give you everything new out in a month, or a curated "best of" list, (looking at you, Verge/io9/Locus) but I tend to chase what's novel.
(Note, this list covers UK and the US, so I'll give the earliest date at which it's out in both, except where they're off by months or more, when you might see repeats. Also, hopefully obviously, not read many of these yet, though certain ones are on pre-order/my "to be read" list. Book reviews may come later.)
What are you going to add to your TBR list this month?
Sorted by genre

He thinks the town is rigged with cameras, or the locals are trying to set him up. As Anderson and the District Attorney trace the clues, the investigation expands from Ohio to Texas. And as horrifying answers begin to emerge, so King's propulsive story of almost unbearable suspense kicks into high gear.

Adjustment Day - Chuck Palahniuk
Smug, geriatric politicians bring the nation to the brink of a third world war in an effort to control the burgeoning population of young males; working-class men dream of burying the elites; and professors propound theories that offer students only the bleakest future.

Imagine there’s no God. There is no Heaven or Hell. There is only your son and his son and his son and the world you leave for them. The weak want you to forgo your destiny just as they’ve shirked theirs. A smile is your best bulletproof vest.
When Adjustment Day arrives, it fearlessly makes real the logical conclusion of every separatist fantasy, alternative fact, and conspiracy theory lurking in the American psyche.
