Written for the NHS 70th anniversary, I suspect this also counts as a sneaky pilot in disguise. I don't think we've had a radio comedy set in a hospital yet, with the closest we've got being Polyoaks or Ivan Brackenbury.

We've got a cast of characters here, patients, nurses, and a few visitors for variety. There's a hunt for a biscuit thief, a bad hairdo and a fight over sourcing carpets. And an abcess. Don't ask where it is.

It's less comedy, more light drama, with a certain degree of low romantic tension, and a couple of heavyweights voicing the major characters. However, it doesn't really go anywhere, being mostly a gentle ramble through a couple of hours with a sappy ending. Slightly suspicous that it was written to spec, rather than being something people are wildly passionate about, giving it the lackluster feel.

Adequate for purpose, but doesn't have a great spark. Maybe if it gets turned into a series, it'll get punched up a bit. One if you're missing a bit of Welsh comedy (been a while since Curious Under The Stars), but if you've missed it, I wouldn't worry overmuch.
